6.40 . previous chapter we learned 400 has 0 odd number but now its telling 2 odd. please explain

Okay. Let me explain again- 400 AD and all “centuries” multiples of 400 like 800 AD, 1200 AD & so on are Leap years. 1 Leap year has 1 day extra than a normal year i.e. a Leap year has 366 days, when divided by 7 will give me 2 as Remainder. Thus, any leap year (400 AD or 2004 AD or 1908 AD) has 2 Odd days, always... Clear now?

But I got your question. Ok so 5, 3, 1, 0 sequence of Odd days you’re referring to.
So what it means is that in 1st 100 years —> Odd days are 5, In 1st 200 years —> Odd days are 3 & so on.... However, within a Leap year, say 400 AD, 800 AD etc the No. of Odd days within that year alone is 2, because R[366/2] = 2... Is it clear now?

Yes so that’s “No. of odd days till the year XXXX”, what we discussing here is “No. of Odd days within a year XXXX”... These as 2 diff. things.... Clear now?
