hiii sir I have one doubt no one is replying me in a proper way my question is that in benzoyl carbonation there are two types of conjugation one pai-sigma-pai and pai-sigma-positive for doing resonance which conjugation should be selected? I didn't get this in reference book it was taken pai-sigma-positive but why this is my big confusion and it was said to select dominating system and sir how to identify that dominating system

see when u have more than two options for resonance in a same structure...then u will go for that one in which there is more potential difference and clearly in the question u asked between pie and positive there is more potential difference..... its very obvious as electron will want to move in that direction where there is more potential difference.

ok see the order of flow of electron is as follows: negative charge - loan pair - pie bond - free radical - positive charge

so the order is in decreasing order of electron concentration

and from the order u will clearly see that between two alternate pie bond and a pie and positive...the latter will have more potential difference

Sir if this is in decreasing order so according to my question for benzoyl carbonation I should give prefernce to pie pie bond rather than pie positive as in the order u showed pie bond comes first and positive charge is last

see in the carbonation the potential difference u have to see is between two pies and between one pie and positive so between two alternate pie there is negligible potential difference...but according to the order positive and pie have potential difference

no sir actually I didn't get actually what I am thinking that the order is in decreasing way so at last is positive in the order so pie positive should have then least potential difference and pie pie should have more....I don't know i am getting confused or what
